Privacy policy
Sweepcut processes your photos 100% on your Mac. We never receive, upload or store your images. This policy explains the small amount of personal data that is involved in buying Sweepcut, activating it, and visiting this website.
Last updated 22 October 2026.
1. Who we are
Dansyte makes Sweepcut and runs sweepcut.com. We're the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us about privacy at dansytehq@gmail.com.
2. The Sweepcut app
Your photos are opened, cut out and exported on your Mac. They're never uploaded, and we never see them. Sweepcut has no analytics, no tracking and no account.
Exports have camera data and GPS location removed, so your listing photos don't reveal where they were taken.
Sweepcut needs the internet once, to activate. Activation sends your license key and Sweepcut's product ID to Gumroad's license service, which tells Sweepcut whether the purchase is valid. As with any internet request, Gumroad also receives your IP address. The license key is then stored on your Mac. After activation, Sweepcut doesn't go online.
3. When you buy Sweepcut
Gumroad handles the purchase as merchant of record. Gumroad collects your payment details and processes them under Gumroad's privacy policy. We never see your card details.
Gumroad shares some purchase details with us, such as your email address, the name you gave, your country, the date and amount, and your license key. We use them to deliver and support your purchase, handle refunds, and keep the records the law requires.
4. When you email us
If you email us, we use your email address and message to reply and help you. Our email is provided by Google (Gmail).
5. This website
sweepcut.com sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers.
If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your own browser (local storage) and never sent to us.
The site's fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when you visit. The site is hosted by Replit, which keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site.
6. Why we're allowed to use your data
Under the GDPR, we rely on:
- contract, to sell, activate and support Sweepcut and to process refunds;
- legal obligation, to keep tax and accounting records;
- legitimate interests, to run and protect the website and to answer your emails.
7. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal data or share it for advertising. The only companies involved are the ones that provide our services: Gumroad (sales and license activation), Google (email and web fonts) and Replit (website hosting).
Some of them are based in the United States, so your data may be processed outside the European Economic Area. When that happens, it's protected by safeguards the GDPR recognises, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep it
We keep purchase records for as long as tax and accounting law requires, which in Ireland is generally six years. We keep support emails for as long as they're needed to help you, then delete them. Hosting logs are kept by Replit for a limited period.
9. Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To ask, email dansytehq@gmail.com. We'll reply within one month.
You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland at dataprotection.ie, or to the data protection authority where you live.
10. Children
Sweepcut and this website aren't aimed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
