Amazon main image requirements, done in one batch
Amazon's main image must show the product on a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), filling 85% of the image, with the whole product in frame. It needs at least 500 pixels on the longest side, and 1,000 or more to turn on zoom. Sweepcut's Amazon preset exports a whole folder that way: 1600 × 1600 JPEGs on pure white at 85% fill.

What gets a main image rejected
Off-white backgrounds. A studio backdrop that looks white is often light grey in the file. Amazon asks for exactly 255, 255, 255.
A product that's too small. Lots of white space around a small product misses the 85% rule. A product cropped at the edge breaks the "whole product" rule.
Transparent PNGs. A transparent background isn't white. Flatten the cut-out onto white before uploading.
Small photos. Under 1,000 pixels on the longest side, shoppers can't zoom.
Pick the Amazon preset, drop the folder
The Amazon main image preset sets a 1600 × 1600 canvas with 7.5% padding on each side, so the product spans 85% of the image, and switches the export to a JPEG on pure white.
- 1
Drop in the folder
Name the source photos with the ASIN and MAIN, like B000123456.MAIN.jpg, and the exports keep those names.
- 2
Pick Amazon main image
1600 × 1600, 85% fill, pure white background, JPEG.
- 3
Export
Every photo is saved to a Cutouts folder, ready for bulk upload.

Pure white, checked: we read the background pixels of Sweepcut's Amazon exports and they're exactly 255, 255, 255.
Filenames: Sweepcut keeps everything before the extension, so B000123456.MAIN.jpg exports as B000123456.MAIN.jpg in the Cutouts folder.
Check each one: Sweepcut flags photos where it found no clear subject instead of exporting them, and labels any that had to be enlarged. Category rules, such as how shoes must face, are still yours to follow when you shoot.

Amazon main images
What are Amazon's main image requirements?
A pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), the product filling 85% of the image and shown whole, one unit only, at least 500 pixels on the longest side, and 1,000 or more for zoom. JPEG is recommended.
Is Sweepcut's white background pure white?
Yes. We checked the exported files: the background pixels are exactly 255, 255, 255.
How does Sweepcut make the product fill 85%?
The Amazon preset crops to the product and leaves 7.5% padding on each side, so the product's longest side spans 85% of the image.
Can I keep Amazon's file naming?
Yes. Sweepcut keeps your original filenames, so a photo named B000123456.MAIN.jpg exports with the same name.
Which Macs does Sweepcut run on?
Sweepcut needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later. It's built for Apple Silicon and runs more slowly on Intel Macs.
